When I first started Humans of Hampton I didn’t really have a set plan. I knew I wanted to share stories and remind people that perhaps living right next door to them is someone who has a story to tell. And by people sharing their story, it can have the ability to make us feel less alone.
I’ve completely and utterly loved, loved, loved sitting down and hearing these stories. Robin, who is coming up next, spent his high school years at Hampton High, which was gobbled up by the Kennett government and unbelievably (to me at least!) he used to surf at Hampton Beach.
To sit down with each person, then transcribe, edit and finally send the transcript to the ‘Human’ takes up so much of my time. Given I’m also working full time in my web design business, it’s become a little tricky to navigate.
So, Humans of Hampton is moving to fortnightly posts. I’m really bummed about this but until someone pays me to do this (hahhahaaaa), then my work – and maybe even the occasional housework (again, insert laugh track here) – has to take priority.
Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to do so. Next post is up on Thursday, 5th May.
Lisa 🙂
